Mega Meet 2025

This past Friday was Mega Meet, a scrapbooking convention I’ve been going to with my mama since I was 12 years old. This year was exciting though! My best friend Karissa came along, YAY for bestie time! Friday morning I woke up to the sound of a lawn mower and had a bit of a lazy start to my day before I showered and got ready. Around 11am I arrived at the convention center and headed off to locate my mama. If you’ve never been to a scrapbooking convention just think of your favorite craft store on so many steroids it would put a bodybuilder to shame. Isles and isles of different vendors selling their scrapbooking supplies. It’s crowded too, everyone stepping on each other to get through the isles or view products. Personally it sets my anxiety on TEN so I skim everything and walk through as quickly as possible. I did manage to find some bling to use in my scrapbooks. I got them at a really good price as well! I didn’t buy any paper this year and honestly that’s a regret but at the same time I really do not need any more paper. After about an hour my anxiety got the better of me I was like we HAVE to get out of here.

My mom drove over to where my car was parked to pick me up after I dropped my bags and we headed off to get lunch! We ended up getting chick fl a ,,,, (I’m sorry I knowwwww I’m a horrible queer person for giving them my coin). We drove back to where my car was parked and parked in some shade nearby to eat our food in the car. We gossiped about things I no longer remember but we were laughing and having a good time. After that I drove home to pack for the crop party that night where Karissa would be joining us, and we had a room at the connecting hotel to spend the night Friday into Saturday.

If you’re unfamiliar with the term “crop party” it’s basically a bunch of people in a room scrapbooking together and having a good time. My mom and I arrived around 6:20 shortly after everything had started. We got our goodie bags and went to our assigned table to get set up. My first project was to finish the scrapbook I had started creating for my bestie Mckenna to send her as apart of a package I’ve been putting together. Karissa arrived a little bit after we did and she joined in on the fun making cards for a coworker and her mom for Mother’s Day. I eventually finished my book for Mckenna and started working on my biggest scrapbook yet, and I named it!!!! “The worst 6 months of my life” sounds a little dark but I guess I’m just coping (4 car accidents in 6 months, I broke both my hands).

By 10:30pm my sister had also joined the party after she got off work. At that point we were all close to being done with being in that noisy room and sitting in those uncomfortable chairs. Mama started packing up first then Karissa and I followed. The crop party went until 12am but we were gone by 11pm.

After we left the crop party Karissa and I took our supplies up to our hotel room. We had planned on going to an ice cream shop we found open until midnight but decided we wouldn’t make it there in time. Instead we went to the gas station around the corner to pick up some drinks and half pints of ice cream. When we got back to the hotel room Karissa was working on a friendship bracelet and I was scrapbooking more all while watching love on the spectrum via the iPad. Karissa ended up giving me the friendship bracelet she was working on (I am honored and I appreciate her soooo much) and then she fell asleep. Me on the other hand, I pulled an all nighter scrapbooking. I filled almost the whole album I started working on that night and it has been determined I’m going to need a bigger album.

I woke Karissa up at 6:30am so we could go get breakfast, it was biscuits and gravy day at the hotel. We ate downstairs then headed back upstairs to get ready and gather our things. By 9:30 we were out the door ready for our next adventure of finding Mother’s Day gifts for our moms. We made our mom’s little baskets and got them flowers.

Karissa dropped me off at home before noon and that was the end of this adventure, but we have more planned!!! Get ready for the bestie road trip in a few weeks (a few days at this point honestly) we will be filming some vlogs along the way so watch out for those <3

xoxo thanks for reading my rambling ,
